High School Musical: The Musical: The Series S02E06 - 'Cause I am more than what I am to you

After knowing North High is also doing the production on Beauty and the Beast, Miss Jenn knows that she has to do something to get their heads in the game of the competition. Miss Jenn wants them to learn improvisation by thinking themselves as the character in the musical. She needs them to dig deep about the character and imagine what they would say if the characters were given a situation. Other than the improv thing, Miss Jenn also casts Nini as the Beast's rose in the musical, so Nini can act along with Ricky. Though Nini and Ricky are not in long-distance relationship, Ricky doesn't feel closer to Nini. He also doesn't feel good when his dad is dating with Miss Jenn, so she has to put an end to the relationship. As Nini is a great singer-songwriter, Miss Jenn wants her to write a song for the rose. Nini doesn't know what to write, so she sits in Big Red's family's pizza place for inspiration. While sitting there, Nini figures out Kourtney is in love with the pizza guy, Howie. Nini thus encourages Kourtney to tell him how she really feels about him. Kourtney then confesses her love to Howie, and he indeed shares the same feeling too. Gina's mom is not going to pick her up, so she has to stay in Salt Lake for a while. She reveals that she admitted her feelings to Ricky before, but he still sent her mixed signals some of the times. She doesn't know how to deal with it, so Ashlyn comforts her by singing her a song.

It sucks when the one you love doesn't reciprocate your love. It's more embarrassing when you have to see that person from time to time. How should we feel when that person still gives us mixed signals?
