High School Musical: The Musical: The Series S04E02 - Hollywood is unfair and devastating

The movie rehearsal is followed by a drama audition. The cast is required to remember the steps within a short time, but thanks to Miss Jenn's teaching, they nail it. Emmy gets fired for asking the director an inappropriate question, as the director believes she is trying to embarrass her. Carlos, fed up with all the relationship drama and dance rehearsal, suggests that Emmy become the assistant of the production this year instead. As the rehearsal overruns, the drama club members have to audition one by one without letting the director know they have been sneaking in and out. Ashlyn observes the interactions between Ricky and Gina and believes there is something going on between them. She tries to confront Gina indirectly and promises to keep the secret. Dani is absent from the rehearsal, so Gina temporarily takes her place to dance with Mack. In another rehearsal, the director realizes there is no spark between Mack and Dani, so she does not know what to do. The drama club members gather at Gina's house to announce the cast list. Unsurprisingly, Ricky will be Troy and Gina will be Gabriella. Gina receives a call from Hollywood, which surprises her as she thought the director was going to fire her. However, the director wants her to replace Dani's role in the movie.
