High School Musical: The Musical: The Series S04E04 - You know how big a first crush can be, right?

It's Halloween, so throwing a Halloween party is a must. Gina has been cast in a reunion movie, which means she probably won't have time to rehearse and perform in the upcoming drama. In light of this, Miss Jenn has decided to replace Gina with Dani in the role of Gabriella. Miss Jenn has informed Ricky about her decision, and Ricky believes he should be the one to break the news to Gina. Tonight is the chosen time for that.

Gina aspires to become a star like Mack, so they think it would create a buzz if they announce that they are dating. At the party, Dani slips away and Gina is shocked to learn that she is being recast. However, Ricky is even more shocked when he discovers that Gina and Mack plan to pretend to be dating to promote the movie. Eventually, Gina and Ricky come clean and admit that they are actually dating. Ricky is devastated to learn that Gina hasn't told her mom about their relationship and he leaves. Miss Jenn spends Halloween night with Ricky's father. By the end of the night, they realize they have unresolved communication issues and agree to break up. Ashlyn sings the song she wrote for the musical to Maddox, and they almost share a kiss. Seb confesses to Carlos that he cheated during summer camp.
