After the intermission, the second act begins. Mr. Mazzara takes control of the sound system, while EJ assumes the role of the coach. Ashlyn confesses her feelings to Maddox, and their love is reciprocated. Initially, Ashlyn believed they would be better off as friends, but after sharing a kiss, she changes her mind. Miss Jenn seeks advice from EJ on whether she should pursue her own dreams. EJ suggests that whatever she chooses will be the best decision for her. Motivated by EJ, Miss Jenn decides to follow her dream after saying goodbye to her students. Ricky informs Gina that he already knows everything and supports her in pursuing her dream. His calm reaction is the opposite of what she expected. While talking with Jet, Kourtney realizes that she would be happier studying at Lewis University rather than Princeton University, relieving her worries about making the wrong decision. Jet is uncertain about continuing to study at East High, but Kourtney reminds him of the happiest moments he had at East High. During the musical, Seb takes the stage and surprises the audience by kissing Carlos. He does this to come out to his parents and express his love for Carlos. His parents are accepting, as they have known he is gay since he was young. After the musical, it's time for Gina to say goodbye to the cast. She delivers a heartfelt speech for each member of the cast before the press conference. During the press conference, Gina announces that the production will take place in Utah instead, leaving the director no choice but to agree. This allows Gina to participate in the next semester's musical. Miss Jenn is delighted that everyone will still be at East High next semester, so she can continue to be their teacher. Since Gina is not going to New Zealand, Miss Jenn and Mr. Mazzara can use the extra tickets to travel there.
