Love, Victor S02E06 - I just don't want you to get your hopes up because of one good night

After coming out, Victor is now an admirable gay guy at the school who has some random kids reaching out to him. Pilar's friend, Rahim is one of the confused kids that wants some advice from a came-out kid. Victor is not sure if he's really the right person, because he cannot even talk with his mom openly with this issue. Pilar knows Victor can give Rahim useful advice, so she brings him home. Victor's mom, Isabel, shows up unexpectedly and she invites Rahim to stay there for dinner. Both Isabel and Rahim are theater people, so they are having a fun time. Even when Isabel knows Rahim is gay, she does not act weird. Indeed, she offers him advice and opens up why she cannot accept the fact right after Victor comes out. She just found it unfamiliar and it takes time for her to digest the fact. Victor is glad to to hear, because he feels like his mom is taking baby steps now. Though not welcomed by church, Victor still wants to support his mom for her performance at church. The godfather tells Victor unwittingly that his mom has been praying him to be straight again. Victor cannot put up with what she did, so he leaves in the middle of her performance. Later on, Isabel admits that she did it, and she feels terribly sorry for what she did now. She was taught that being gay is shameful, so she has this mindset engrained ever since. She promises she will accept who he is by being nicer to his boyfriend and tell Adrian that he's gay eventually.

Lake's mom shows up unexpectedly at Felix's house. Lake's mom wants to let his family know that she can offer help if they are in need. Felix and his mom don't want to be treated like a charity case, so Felix tells Lake that she should not involve in his family business. Lake's mom has friend who is a well known psychiatrist, so Lake wonders if Felix is interested in taking her mom to see the doctor. Felix tries to ask his mom if she is down to seeing a new doctor, but she turns mad immediately. Felix's mom even goes to find Lake's mom and tell her that she doesn't need help and make a scene before expelled by security guard. After locking his mom in foster care, Felix has to stay with Victor's family for a while.

Mia and Andrew are doing great, but Mia overreacts when her step mum, Veronica says something inappropriate. Veronica wants to invite Andrew to her wedding, but Mia rejects her proposal right away. She likes Andrew obviously, but she has got used to people she loved leave her. Andrew reassures her again that he won't be going anywhere this time.

Mmm. I'm glad you're here. Even if I don't deserve it after how I treated you. You know, I, I think I've gotten used to people I care about leaving me.
