Love, Victor S02E07 - I guess I just didn't realize how much patience and understanding it took to be with me

Today is the big day for Benji, which is his birthday. Benji's mom wants to give him a surprise, so she asks Victor to come by tonight to join them for a table for four. Benjie is shocked to see Victor at the dinner, because he doesn't expect to see his boyfriend at this occasion. It seems that Benji doesn't even want Victor to be here. Indeed, this dinner is not only for celebrating his birthday but his one-year sobriety. Victor doesn't know Benji is sober for a year until then, because they drank together in the cabin. The truth is Benji was drinking something else while they were drinking. Victor can't believe that Benji hid such a huge part of life from him. Benji doesn't want Victor to think of him as an alcoholic, so he didn't tell Victor anything about his sobriety. Victor is mad at Benji now, because Benji has been telling him to open up, but Benji didn't. Benji reveals that he has been putting up with Victor's things a lot but he didn't complain them either, like Victor's mom doesn't welcome him at home. Benji comes by Victor's house to apologize for saying the mean things to him. Victor also apologizes, because he knows it is not easy to date him as well. They kiss and make up. Isabel returns home and she walks in on Victor and Benjie when they are in bed.

Lake told Felix's mom's problem to her mom, and she accidentally turned his mom in the psychiatric hospital. Lake knows she made a big mistake, so she wants to make it up to him. Mia tells Lake that a hot date might not be what he wants. Mia lost her mom before, so she understands how hurtful it is for Felix to go through the pain. Lake doesn't think Mia is supportive enough, so she just go with her plan of bringing Felix to the aquarium. Lake and Felix had their very first kiss when Felix told her that a male angler fish just wants his mate happy. Betrayed by his girlfriend, Felix doesn't think he can trust Lake anymore, he doesn't want to be angler fish anymore. Felix deserves to be happy as well, so he decides to break up with Lake. Lake is so upset that she goes back to Mia. Felix is upset too, but he goes back to his house to watch the show that he usually watched with his mom. Later, he is joined by Pilar, because she wants to make him happier.

Felix breaking up with Lake is somehow unexpected, because they have been a sweet couple in the last few episodes. Pilar is a nice girl as well, and the previous episodes have foreshadowed that she kinda has feeling for Felix already, so is Pilar going to make a move on Felix?

That night I kissed you, I told you the only thing a male angler fish wants is to make its mate happy. Yeah, I remember. I don't want to be that fish. I think need to be happy, too. And right now seeing you makes me really, really sad. So, I'm sorry, Lake. I don't think we can be together.
