Love, Victor S02E09 - if you're not into it, you're not into it
Benji is still pissed at Victor for him telling the secret of AA. Benji doesn't even talk to Victor at school now. Victor doesn't know to how to sit with him in the same class without talking, so he decides to skip the school with Rahim. Everything reminds Victor of Benji, so Rahim brings him to somewhere that he has never been before. It is such a secret place that even Armando has a date with his new girlfriend there. Victor cannot believe that his dad is seeing someone else now, because he thought Armando will be getting back with Isabel. Being caught playing hooky, Victor is asked by his dad to go back to school if he doesn't want his mom to know about it. Rahim doesn't want the day ends like this, so he brings Victor to do pedicure. Rahim also reveals that he came out to his parents yesterday, and it did go quite well, because his parents had guessed that he might be gay long ago. Victor notices that Rahim has been grinning at his own phone while texting someone, so Victor asks if there is anything going on. Rahim honestly tells Victor that he has been texting with a guy, Charlie, but he hasn't meet that guy in real life. Previously, Rahim promises Victor to spend a day with him to do whatever he likes, so Rahim asks Charlie out when Victor says he wants to see them having a first date. Rahim invites Charlie to go to the coffeehouse and he swoons in right after looking at him the very time. However, the dating does not go well, because Charlie finds Rahim not so masculine after all. Indeed, Charlie leaves before even they start the date. Rahim is so down and he now doubts that he is not enough for hot guys. Victor doesn't think so, he complimented how cool he is. To cheer Rahim up, Victor takes him to a gay bar. Visiting gay bar the first time, Rahim feels like he finally finds a place that he belongs to. They even sing a song together on stage. However, good thing doesn't last long. Isabel received a call from school earlier and found out Victor is cutting class, so she tracks him by locating his phone. Isabel cannot believe that his son goes to gay bar and skips classes now. Victor honestly tells his mom how bad his day was, and that's the reason why he skipped school. Isabel isn't really mad at him for acting out, but she doesn't know why Victor didn't tell her all the things he's been going through. Isabel also apologizes to Victor for not supporting him earlier this year. Isabel has quitted the church now, so she is ready to accept who his son is. Knowing Victor is taking a break with Benji, Isabel assures him that he will find someone better someday.
It is just impossible to make everyone like you. Don't beat yourself up even someone doesn't like you. You are special in your own way, and someone who appreciates you will come to you one day.
But Simon, my shit is not together. My shit is... Well, it's shit.
And I know that I didn't make you feel that way this year. I'll never forgive myself for that, but... I accept you, Victor. I, I... love every single part And I will spend the rest of my life to make sure that you know that. Okay? And if things with Benji are really over, I know you'll find another wonderful person. I... Not "person." Another young man, who is just right for you.
