Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella - It grows on you
Cinderella lives with her stepmother and 2 stepsisters, but she is a servant in the house. One day, she meets someone in the market and she is kinda interested in him. He immediately has a crush on her when he sees her the very first time, because Cinderella is unlike other girls. She wants him not because of his wealth or prestige. She didn't know he was indeed the prince. Ever since the prince has met Cinderella, he can't stop thinking about her. Now, he only wants her to be princess, but he doesn't know where to find her. The queen wants the prince to settle down with a princess as soon as possible, so she suggests hosting a ball to allow the prince to choose who he wants. He reluctantly accepts on a condition that he can find someone else if he can't find the one in the ball. Cinderella's stepsisters are preparing themselves for the ball, because they want to show the best of themselves to the prince. Cinderella wants to go too, but her stepmother doesn't allow her to do so. On the big day, Cinderella's stepmother and stepsisters go out to the ball and leave Cinderella alone in the house. The stepsisters has been trying hard to impress the prince, but he is uninterested in any of them. The prince is so tired of dancing with girls he has no interest in, so he just wants to speed things up and end the ball as quickly as possible. While Cinderella is hoping she could be there, her godmother appears out of nowhere. The godmother has the magical power to turn Cinderella into a princess-like lady with the caveat that she has to leave by the midnight. When Cinderella arrives at the ball, everyone is just dazzled by her. The prince immediately invites her for a dance because he finds her so familiar. When the queen questions Cinderella about her parents, she feels intimidated and doesn't what to tell. She backs off and wants her fairy godmother take her back. The fairy godmother encourages Cinderella to stay instead, because she believes this is what Cinderella has been dreaming for. Cinderella really enjoy her time with the prince, but the spell only lasts before midnight, so she has to leave when it's time. She accidentally leaves one of her slippers and got picked up by the prince. The prince is madly in love with Cinderella, so he decides to marry anyone whose feet can fit in with the slipper. The prince visits every single house in town to find the girl he loves. When he is in Cinderella's house, her stepsisters and even her stepmother try so hard to fit in the slipper. They do not want Cinderella to try the slipper on, so they don't let the prince to be in her room. The prince insists and finally sees someone he is familiar with. He knows she is the one, and the rest is history. The prince marries Cinderella and they live happily ever after.
