The Idea of You - I didn't know my being happy would piss so many people off

Solène is a 40-year-old divorcee who owns an art gallery. Solène is planning to do a solo trip while her daughter, Izzy attends Coachella with friends. Unfortunately, Izzy’s dad, Daniel, has work commitments, so Solène has to drive Izzy and her friends to Coachella and accompany them for the whole time.

Izzy and her friends plan to meet August Moon, the famous boy band. While waiting for the show to begin, Solène goes to a trailer to use the bathroom. When she comes out, there is a guy sitting there. It turns out to be Hayes, one of the members in August Moon. The situation sounds embarrassing, but they are not uncomfortable at all. In the meet-and-greet session, Hayes finally knows Solène’s name and learns that she owns an art gallery. In the show, August Moon has a change in setlist and sings a love song instead.

After the show, Hayes shows up at Solène’s art gallery and buys everything in the art gallery. Hayes still wants something more, so he asks Solène to bring him to another place. To avoid the crowd, Hayes ends up at Solène’s house for lunch. At one point, Hayes kisses her, but Solène backs off. Hayes intentionally leaves his watch at her house before he goes. One night, Solène receives a text inviting her to fly to New York. It is Hayes ,and he reveals that he got her number from the invoice. Izzy is at the summer camp, so Solène is free to fly to New York to meet him in the hotel. They have a great time together that night. Hayes wants Solène to accompany him on a European tour. Solène agrees but she wants to keep their relationship private. Solène goes to France on vacation. Solène is a bit uncomfortable around the other young women. Solène is upset when she learns that Hayes used a similar trick to pursue other girls previously. Daniel has figured out Solène has been dating Hayes, but when he confronts her, she denies it.

Solène and Hayes' relationship is exposed by the paparazzi, and the couple receive a lot of hate from his fans. The fans followed Solène and expressed their hatred for her being in love with Hayes because of the large age gap. Izzy gets bullied at school because of this news, so she moves in with her dad. Solène cannot handle all the pressure, so she breaks up with him. She suggests that they could go back together when Izzy has graduated after 5 years on a condition that they still haven’t found their partners by then.

After 5 years, Hayes announces that he will be taking a break and going to visit Los Angeles to meet someone special in a late night show. Hayes returns to the art gallery and reunites with Solène.

Age is just a number. When it comes to relationships, age doesn't matter much. When two individuals are deeply in love, their emotions transcend anything that comes in their way.
