Feeling betrayed and lonely, Amleth kills her eldest son and decides to kill her whole family the next day. As Gudrún already knows Amleth is the mastermind behind everything, they threaten to kill Olga. Amleth offers to trade Olga for their eldest son's heart. Olga is released, but Amleth still refuses to tell them where their son's heart is, so they lock him up. With the help of ravens, Amleth manages to escape. Amleth decides to flee with Olga and abandon his revenge plan. When Amleth learns that Olga is pregnant with his sons, he realizes his family will not be safe until Fjölnir is dead. Therefore, Amleth goes back. He runs into his mom and her youngest son, and they have a fight. Amleth stabs both of them to death in the end. Learning that both of his loved ones are dead, Fjölnir challenges him to a duel at the Gates of Hel. After a fierce fight, Amleth beheads Fjölnir, but he is also badly hurt. No one survives, but Amleth can foresee that Olga and their sons would be safe ever since.
