While You Were Sleeping - Life doesn't always turn out the way you plan

Lucy is a kind-hearted, but lonely woman who longs for love. She works at a train station and secretly admires a handsome commuter, though she doesn't know his name and they have never spoken. On Christmas day, she witnesses the handsome commuter being pushed onto the tracks by some strangers. Without hesitation, Lucy jumps down to save him from an oncoming train. She accompanies him to the hospital where she learns his name is Peter. A nurse overhears Lucy murmuring that she is going to marry him and mistakenly informs Peter's family that Lucy is his fiancée. Not wanting to cause a scene, Lucy decides to go along with the misunderstanding when introduced as Peter's fiancée. Peter's godfather, Saul, overhears Lucy confessing the truth at Peter's bedside, but he promises to help her keep the secret.

During the Christmas season, Lucy is invited to spend the night with Peter's family. They exchange gifts and enjoy each other's company. Peter's younger brother, Jack, is surprised to learn that Peter has a new fiancée and becomes suspicious of Lucy. Jack visits Lucy's place and a neighbor refers himself as Lucy's boyfriend. Jack confronts Lucy in front of the entire family, but she manages to divert suspicion by claiming that her neighbor is mentally challenged. Jack's doubts subside, and he begins spending more time with Lucy. Jack confides in Lucy about his desire to pursue his own dreams instead of taking over the family business, while Lucy reveals her lifelong dream of traveling to Italy. Jack starts to develop feelings for Lucy. Hearing Lucy jokingly claim she is pregnant, someone from Peter's family assumes it's true and shares the news with the rest of the family. Lucy, not wanting to cause further commotion, chooses not to clarify immediately. Jack is confused in the situation, but he knows it's just not right to pursue Lucy at this moment.

When Peter finally wakes up, he has no memory of Lucy, as they had never spoken before the accident. The family assumes he has amnesia and assures him that he will fall in love with Lucy due to her kindness. Saul suggests that Peter propose to Lucy again, and Lucy accepts, despite her growing feelings for Jack. On their wedding day, Lucy confesses to Peter that she is not his fiancée and reveals her love for Jack. Jack and his family visit Lucy at work, where he surprises her by proposing. Overwhelmed with joy, Lucy accepts.

Lucy learns that sometimes what she thought she wanted is not necessarily what she truly needs. Initially, she believed she wanted to be with Peter, but eventually realizes she is happier with Jack. Sometimes the heart doesn't know what it wants until it finds what it wants. Don't get fooled by your first feeling and don't judge a book by its cover. There's more to this than meets the eye. It takes time to know a person.
