Zoey's Extraordinary Christmas - Bring in some new traditions

This is Clarke family's first Christmas after the passing of Mitch. Zoey wonders what the family might want to do in this season, but it turns out they all plan to celebrate separately. Zoey seems ok with them being not spending the Christmas together, but she is not. Max has gained the ability to hear heart songs, so he knows how upset Zoey is when she learns that her family has to spend the holiday season apart. Max assures her that both of them can still have a wonderful Christmas together, but Zoey doesn't really want to have Christmas that way. She still wants to be with family at Christmas just like before, so she starts convincing her family to stay here to spend Christmas together. Surprisingly, they all agree to stay during Christmas, so Zoey decides to recreate Mitch's Christmas to honor him. She wants everything to be exactly the same as what his dad usually planned, from the dinner to the decoration. Zoey is a bit stressed out while preparing the Christmas party, because she is afraid that this year can't measure up with the previous ones. The party goes exactly what Zoey has planned, except a guest shows up unexpectedly. He is the guy selling Christmas tree, and Max knew Maggie is attracted to him from her heart song, so he invited him. It's awkward because the guy seems out of place in the party. What more embarrassing is that Zoey walks in on them while they are kissing. Everything seems messed up, and Zoey doesn't even what's going on. On the other hand, Max blames himself for ruining the party by inviting the guy without giving Zoey heads up. It's also the moment when Max realizing how hard it's to help others even being able to hear someone's heart song, and he's sorry for not being understandable for Zoey's situation back then. All of a sudden, Max loses his power, but at least he got to feel what Zoey has been feeling. Instead of doing what they used to do at Christmas, Zoey decides to bring in new tradition by going to Mo's Christmas Carol-oke. Zoey is not the only one does something new this Christmas, but also Simon and Mo. Simon spent Christmas Eve with his mother and her new husband, and he was happy to see her so happy. Mo also bonds with Perry and his kids. Mo ruined his kid's school performance by turning it into his own show, but he makes it up by inviting them to sing together at the party.

To honor the deceased, you don't always have to do the same old things that you used to do before. It's just so hard to keep the tradition, because it will never be what it was when they're not here. You have to live the fact that they are gone, and it is nothing wrong to bring in new tradition and make new memories. They will always live in our hearts and be remembered.

Max, the pain was there. The pain is always there. That's what grief and mourning is. But it's getting better and it's gonna keep getting better, I know it.
