Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist S02E01 - You have to make choices in life, carry on, right or wrong

Zoey is back! The last season's finale ends with Zoey's dad, Mitch's funeral. This season continues the story after few weeks of the funeral. Mitch is an irreplaceable member in the family, so it takes time for everyone in the family to go through bereavement. Zoey has not been in mood with working and has been lying on the bed since the death of his father. Zoey's mum, Maggie finds it guilty for experiencing the joy that Mitch cannot enjoy, so she does not dare to even hold the baby. Zoey's brother, David and his wife, Emily, are stressed out for looking after their newborn baby. Zoey's best friend, Mo comes to her house to drag her out of the bed, so this is her first day to resume her normal life. Zoey first asks Max out before going back to work. Max gifts Zoey a ring hoping to shield her from all the pain. When she is back to the office, she runs into Simon. Simon tells Zoey that he will support her just like how she supported him before. Both of them did not force Zoey to make a decision, because they know that there was so much going on for her. Instead of turning against each other, Max and Simon bond together with Mo. They were concerned about Zoey, so they hanged out a lot to update each other. Max and Simon do not compete face to face, but both of them still want to date her deep down.

The office is no longer it used to be, and the new environment freaks Zoey out. She originally thought she lost her magical power, but she did not. When she steps in the office, she can still see others singing and dancing around her. She is overwhelmed by the new stuff and get even stressed out when her boss wants her to take up a higher position. Things just happened even when Zoey locked herself in her own bedroom. Grief takes time, but life has to go on as well. Zoey and her mum accidentally find out that Mitch left each of them a video. However, they cannot bear to watch the whole video as he is suffering while recording. David finds a video that his dad recorded on a better day. It is a message to Maggie and also his son and daughter. He predicted that he would be gone soon, so he tries to comfort them. He does not want them to waste so much time on grieving, because there is a lot to do in  life. It is hard to live without your loved one, but it does not mean that your life is pointless ever since then. There is still someone in your life that needs your love and care, so it would make them worried if you cannot move on after a long time. Zoey finally wraps her mind everything just happened. She decides to accept the promotion to be the Executive Director and takes Max as her boyfriend.
