Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist S02E08 - Bigger moments, bigger memories

Zoey is going to have her 30th birthday soon. This year was a tough year for her, but she survived, so it is a good time to celebrate with her friends and family that helped her to get through all the things. She wants to make it as grand as possible, so she tries to invite everyone she knows to the party.

Mo finds the new fire marshal hot, so she tries to find excuses to see him. He clearly knows what Mo is trying to do, so he tells Mo he is fine if Mo wants to ask him out. That's why Mo takes the hot fire marshal to Zoey's party.

Zoey and Max are on a break now, but she is still uncomfortable when Max flirts with another girl. Zoey cannot put up with the scene when Max is singing a heart song to the new girl, so she decides to have a mature talk with him to see where they stand. Zoey tells him honestly that a neighbor of hers has a crush on her and she is having a crush on Simon as well. All the new information make both of them uncomfortable and they start to have a very tensed discussion. Max does not want to ruin the night, so he walks away.

Upset by the fight with Max, Zoey wants to cancel the party. When she makes the announcement in front of her co-workers, she can tell how disappointed they are. She doesn't want to let them down, so she changes her mind again to have the party back on.

At the party, Zoey is glad to see Max is there. Max brings her a record that they sung together before in the bed. Zoey loves it though she doesn't have that strong feeling for him now. They have that discussion about their relationship again, but they are so calm this time. Zoey just wants to let him know that if he should go for it if he loves the girl. She doesn't want to be his burden holding him back. Max say something similar to her in return, so that means both of them are back in the game. The guys living next to Zoey perform his own song with his band and tries to confess his feelings for Zoey. Zoey thinks he is too young for her so she turns him down. At the party, Simon comes with another girl, so Zoey first thought that she doesn't stand a chance anymore. However, the girl tells her that she is out to have a date with another guy, which means Simon is available now. Zoey doesn't want to let him slip away again, so she invites him over at her birthday night. She can't hold back her feelings anymore, so they have their first kiss that night.

The last thing I want is to hold you back, so if you want to pursue something with her, it would be it would be wrong of me to... get in the way.
