Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist S02E10 - Just because a relationship isn't easy doesn't mean that it's not worth it, regardless of the challenges
Emily cried out for help at the end of the last episode. Zoey knows that she has to help Emily, but it seems that Emily is pushing others away. After talking to Simon, Zoey doesn't want to give up on her, so she plans to do something with David at dinner to make Emily open up. Maggie's friend, Deb, interrupted the dinner as well as their plan. It is obvious that Emily wants to shut them out. Their perfect plan failed to go as it is planned, so Zoey needs to find another way to let Emily let out her feelings. Inspired by Simon, she is going to have a girls' night with Emily. Zoey originally wants to talk with her all night in comfy outfit, but that's not what Emily thinks about girls' night. Emily wants to dance and get drunk, so Zoey follows her.
Annoyed by her party with other couples, Maggie doesn't want to meet with them again. Ever since the funeral, her friends around her just view her as a widow, but Maggie wants something more. Maggie asks her widow friend, Deb, out to hit the town. Deb takes her to the casino to enjoy the night by impersonating as someone else. They are both having fun, and it is a kind of girls' night for Maggie and Deb.
Max's girlfriend is going to leave the town, which means their relationship is about to end, because they agreed that it is a casual relationship. Deep down, Max loves her so much, and he doesn't really want to be the Mr. Casual. Mo and his boyfriends are going well, but Perry still hasn't introduced his children to him for fear of their relationship is not going to last long. Simon wants to spend more quality time with Zoey, but she is busy figuring out how to help Emily open up her feelings.
Mo is going to sing in the church, so he invites his friends to come. Zoey gets emotional when hearing him sings. She has been hiding her secret superpower of being able to listen to others' feelings through songs. It is about time for her to be honest to Simon about the power she has.
Out of Mo's surprise, Perry comes to church along with his children. Perry was dreading to let his children to know Mo, because he was not so sure whether they can be a thing. Seeing Perry and his children at church does take him by surprise, because that means they are taking thing serious now. Max knows that he loves his girlfriend so much that he doesn't want to let her go at all. Even when they are worlds apart, they can still keep a long distance relationship. Max tells exactly what he thinks to her, and it turns out she had the same thought. Both of them had agreed to keep it casual, so they didn't bring this up so as not to put pressure on one another.
