Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist S02E13 - And everything it does, it does for a reason

After the therapy session, Zoey goes back to her normal life again. She seems normal again, but she does not really enjoy the repeating life that she is in. She has Simon as a boyfriend, but she does not has a strong feeling for him anymore. She wants Max, but he gets a new girlfriend already. She regrets putting their relationship on pause when they have just a small fight. Zoey finally realizes Simon and she are not meant to be, but when she wants to go back Max, he is not available for her. Because of a mistake she made, her (love) life is a mess now. Zoey doesn't think it is fair to Max if she continue to linger when she has no feeling for her. Therefore, she decides to break it up. She thought it would be hard to tell him, but it turns out to be so easy as Max brings this up first.

Max is going to New York next week, and it seems that he is not planning to come back. Before his departure, Mo plans to throw a going away party for him at their restaurant. In the dinner, Zoey's co-workers unwittingly reveal the secret that Max gave up the position to her on the first day they met. Zoey feels like she is fraud because she did not earn the job by herself. Max tells her that he genuinely found her better than himself, so Zoey kind of forgives him. In a dream, Zoey meets her dad, and he suggests her to take the risk or she will never know what happens next. Being encourage by her dad and Mo, she decides to go to the airport and chase back Max. Zoey is bummed out again when she hears Max singing a heart song that he is in love at the airport, so she is not taking any actions this time. When she is about to give up, Max shows up out of the blue. Zoey finally has the courage to take on the risk and admit she is truly in love with him. When Zoey is confessing her love to him, Max finds out he has power of listening to other's heart songs as well.

You have to move on whether you like it or not. After the death of her husband, Maggies feels lost because she is not used to the life without him. Throughout the season, Maggie tries to live her life to the fullest by trying something new, be it gambling or partying. In the very last episode, she realizes that she wants to be loved again, so she decides to put herself out there again. It is not really betrayal, because Mitch would want her to be happy as well even though he is not around. Zoey is also forced to grow up after the passing of her dad. She has been relying on her dad so much that she finds herself in depression from time to time ever since then. No one likes losing our loved ones, so does she. She did make mistake and resort to drugs early, but with her charisma, she gets to power through them one by one. Even with her own problem, she still tries to make use of her special ability to help people out. The love story of Perry and Mo is not easy. They fall in love with each other at the first sight. However, Perry is not comfortable with coming out again and wants to take thing slow. Though there are so many things that they cannot agree upon on, they know that they are right for one another, so they are going to make it work against all odds.

Maybe that's part of the problem, right? You shouldn't have to try so hard.

Life works in mysterious ways, Zoey. You know, it's all about timing. You don't know what's gonna happen. Love could be right around the corner.

Mo, I have no idea what kind of struggles you and Perry will have together in the future, but... I've got a feeling he wants to make it work. And so do you.

I want to thank you for not giving up on me or us and teaching me that a partnership and a friendship can co-exist.

Because you deserved it more than anybody. Because I saw your passion and intelligence from minute one and knew instantly that you belonged there because you were a great code who was meant to be there. And I wasn't gonna take that opportunity from you. Even if we had just met that day.

No, I know. It's scary. It's unpredictable. Look what happened to you. I'm sorry about that. Life is full of surprises. And it could be hard for somebody who wants to feel they're in control of everything. But... if you never take the risks...

We are going there, because if I don't say something, I might regret it for the rest of my life.
